Undoubtedly, though, inflation aggravated every evil, ruined every chance of national revival or individual success, and eventually produced precisely the conditions in which extremists of Right and Left could raise the mob against the State, set class against class, race against race, family against family, husband against wife, trade against trade, town against country.
The flicker of evil that you speak of is burning brighter each day. Hatred and division stoked by those who want to bring our society to its knees is rampant. For me there is no other answer than to pray that these times will produce stronger smarter people. God willing.
Great writing Theodore.
I especially liked how you tied together, the different events over a period of time and how they were interwoven with each other. Very well done.
Thank you sir,
scott
You are a very insightful (and funny) man. Appreciate your honesty and perspective.

Inflation made the dollar have less purchasing power.
Money has to be backed up with something valuable.
We used to make our own things, which gave people jobs and money.
Now, we don't make things anymore.
Our vehicles are made out of plastic and are easily damaged.
Our computers are cheap and made to fail.
The more you have of something, like cash,
The less it's worth.
That's why we once were backing money with gold and silver if it wasn't gold and silver itself.
Fantastic documentation of just how screwed we are getting with hard numbers, thanks for doing the research and writing it up.
